The District’s Strings Program, operating as the Flagler Youth Orchestra, has a new team in place. This, after the School Board’s adoption of the program’s $95,290 budget for 2023-24 at its September 5th meeting.

The program, which boasts more than 350 students playing string instruments, currently is entering its 19th season.

The Strings Program team includes Dr. Brandon Loos, Administrator; Victor Rivera, Artistic Director; Lacy San Antonio, upper string instructor; Dr. Pamela Mireles, upper string instructor; Jeremy Bartlett, double bass instructor; Gracie Lookadoo, cello instructor; and Evan Hernandez, upper string instructor.

Auditions are underway, with a second round scheduled for Monday, Sept. 11, at Indian Trails Middle School, from 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

FYO will host an Open House Wednesday, September 13, at the Fitzgerald Performing Arts Center at Flagler Auditorium. That is on the campus of Flagler-Palm Coast High School, and will go from 6 p.m. -7:30 p.m.
